オクニャー・ソーン・ソクナはソキメックス(SOKIMEX)グループの共同創業者であり、1992年から2009年までのグループの副会長を務めて居りました。ソナトラ・グループの創業者でもあり、同グループは、カンボジア金融協会、ソナトラ証券、ソナトラ・マイクロファイナンス、ソナトラ株式会社、ソナトラ建設、芝通ソナトラ、アグロテック・ヴィータ、またイーストウィング会計事務所を傘下として居ります。

彼は1999年からカンボジア商工会議所の副会長、また2006年設立当初からカンボジア専門家・中小企業会の副会長として活動して居ります。彼はまた、ASEANビジネス諮問委員会(ASEAN BAC )のメンバーでもあります。

カンボジアの証券市場を創設当時から尽力し、同国内でも尊敬されている一流ビジネスマンとして名声を有して居ります。証券市場への投資のほか、実体経済の市場への投資も本格的に行い、公的教育機関のトレーニングに積極的に参加したり、カンボジア金融協会を通して同国の証券市場の成功に大きく貢献して居ります。またファイナンスの分野において、2003年チャールズ・スタート大学 (オーストラリア)でMBAを取得。1994年オーストラリアのロシアン・アカデミーエコノミクスで経済学の修士号を取得した後、シンガポールで2004年からアセアン・技術協会の名誉会員として活動して居ります。2003年カンボジアの技術役員となり、同年マレーシア・クアラルンプールにてアセアン技術協会の賞を受賞しまし

た。 カンボジアの発展に貢献したことを称えて、以下の勲章を受章して居ります。
